Designing for Liberated Learning:
Black Teacher Design Lab Solutions

A Living, Liberatory Archive of Healing-Centered Classroom Solutions
Poster with colorful square patterns and bold text that reads: "Designing for liberated learning: a living, liberatory archive of healing-centered classroom solutions from the Black Teacher Design Lab.

Across classrooms and communities, Black teachers are transforming what learning can feel like when healing, belonging, and joy are centered. This Designing for Liberated Learning resource gathers their stories, prototypes, and practices into one living archive. Each solution was co-designed by Black educators and their students through the Black Teacher Design Lab, a program of the Black Teacher Project made possible by the support of the National Equity Project, the Rare Impact Fund, and countless partners and co-conspirators who believe in this work.

Designing for Liberated Learning: Black Teacher Design Lab Solutions is both reflection and invitation: a look at how Black teachers are leading change and a call to those who want to join them in reimagining schools as communities of liberated learning.

Fuel the Future of the Black Teacher Design Lab

The brilliance inside this booklet was made possible by Black teachers who dared to design beyond constraint.

With your support, the next cohort of the Black Teacher Design Lab can continue to prototype healing-centered, equity-driven solutions that transform classrooms across the country.

Your donation will help sustain Black teacher leadership, expand liberatory design opportunities, and grow communities of practice that model what thriving looks like.
